The most read article in today's (09/24/2008) Wall Street Journal is the entitled "The United States of Mind." The article reflects the results of a study published by the journal: Perpesctives on Pysologicial Science which is based on more than 600,000 questionnaires distributed throughout the country. The study "maps regional clusters of personality traits" and combines this with crime, health and economic data state by state in search of correlations. Although the study reflects attributes not necessarily identified by a Meyers Briggs evaluation, terms such as "Extraversion, Agreeableness, and Openness" could losely be related. I am not really sure how one would identify neuroticism, but apparently West Virginia and Mississippi fall into that category. According to the study, North Dakota is the most outgoing state in the union. Nevada ranks low in the "agreeableness" section.
