OK, I have taken the plunge and signed up for Bob Kelley's class, starting on Wednesday, August 27th. Four books to read, add a Wall Street Journal subscription, a blog (!) and I am glad I kept up the subscription to Fortune magazine.
Today I dealt with a candidate who indidated on his application that he graduated from not one but two colleges. Plus achieved a carrier (I truly believe he meant career) studies certificate. Unfortunately, none of it was true. His explanation? "I apparently didn't complete my pt requirements and never followed up as to why I didn't receive a certificate". Add that to "I didn't actually go through the whole cap and gown thing" and "those days were spent in somewhat of a haze" and his offer letter was recinded. The life of an HR Business partner attemtpting to move to a HR player.
